New merch the choose901 spring market!

The countdown is on! We’re just weeks away from our Choose901 Spring Market, and this one is especially meaningful because it's happening right before City Leadership’s 15th anniversary on May 1.

That milestone has me reflecting on how far we’ve come. Not just as an organization, but as a city. When Choose901 started, there weren’t many places to get Memphis gear unless you popped into the Tiger bookstore or a tourist shop on Beale. So we started printing t-shirts—not just to fill a need, but to tell a story.

At the time, we had no idea how big this movement would become—and how something as simple as a t-shirt could help tell the journey of Memphis.

And our merch doesn’t just look good—it does good, investing in programs that support the 901. At City Leadership, we don’t sell merch for profit. We do it to support the people who make this city thrive. 

Every single dollar from your purchase goes directly into campaigns like Teach901, Serve901, Give901, and Choose901 Alumni—helping teachers get hired, graduates find jobs, and future leaders stay in Memphis and lead right here at home.

This Year's Designs.

This spring market feels like a celebration of everything that’s grown over the last 15 years—our city, our team, and even our t-shirt game.

Our incredible team has been collaborating to make sure each design is thoughtful, fun, and 100% Memphis, and they’re super pumped to share the new items with you. 

So as we look ahead to the market April 10–12, it’s not just about fresh designs (though we’re very excited about those)- it’s a moment to recognize the journey, the growth, and the purpose behind it all.

🎽 Mem Jam Tee

This design pays tribute to the spirit of the underdog. We feature two beloved (but not always spotlighted) Grizzlies players—one of the tallest players in the NBA next to one of the shortest on the team—and play up their height difference in a hilarious way. One player’s head is barely visible at the bottom, the other is cut off at the shoulders. A must-have for true fans and t-shirt collectors with a sense of humor.

🎶 CHOOSE901 RECORDS Tee

We don’t own a record label, but if we did, this would be the album cover. This design channels Memphis music culture in a way that’s subtle, stylish, and totally wearable. It’s got retro record-store energy with a Choose901 twist—celebrating a city where rhythm and soul aren’t just history, they’re identity.

💘 Memphis, I Love You (New Colorways)

Back by popular demand! Originally part of our limited Valentine’s drop, these hoodies came with customized colors and text. And y’all didn’t just love them—you chased us down in person asking where to get ‘em. So we’re bringing them back in some of the most requested non-Valentine’s colorways. Same message, now with more options to show love your way.

🚋 MPHS Trolley Tee

This shirt features a real photo of a Main Street trolley, back when they were still running. We wanted an image that felt familiar, local, and undeniably Memphis—but not something you’ve seen on every souvenir shop wall. Under the image, you’ll find two lines we live by:

“Invest and Enjoy”
A city driven by legacy and culture. We choose Memphis.

It’s a love letter to the past and a declaration of commitment to the future.

💙 Choose901 Grizz Tee

Get playoff-ready in Memphis pride. We took the boldness of our Choose901 "Big in Three" design and dropped it in Grizzlies gold, navy, and light blue—including a Grizz-inspired jersey font for that courtside vibe. These are available in sizes for both adults and kids, so the whole family can show up and show out this spring.

🛞 Pothole Repair 2.0 Tee

A fan favorite, reimagined. You might remember our Pothole Work Jacket from Fall 2023 (with the actual city repair hotline on the back). That joke hit home—probably because we’ve all caught a flat on Poplar. So this spring, we’ve brought the concept back as a short-sleeve tee featuring a new addition: a little flat tire character with a shovel, rushing to save the day.

It’s funny. It’s weirdly adorable. And yes, it still points people to the real city hotline. Public service meets inside joke—peak Memphis energy.
