Did you get a scholarship for college?
I did. Eleven of them.
And without them, I wouldn’t have made it.
Because for someone to get an education, someone else has to give.
Wrapping Up the 2026 Shainberg Stories
For the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing the stories of our 2026 Shainberg Scholars on the Give901 blog, and we’re at the tail end now. If you haven’t been following along, now is a great time to head over and check them out.
This year, we were able to award seven Shainberg Scholarships, up from four last year. That’s worth celebrating.
But we can’t stop there.
The Need Is Still Real
Today, tuition costs are up. Scholarships are harder to come by.
But over 1,700 Choose901 Alumni are in college right now. Doing the work. Chasing their dreams.
Every year, we welcome over 400 new high school graduates from our six partner schools into the Choose901 Alumni network. And we walk alongside them through their first decade of life after high school, some of the most critical and most vulnerable years in a young person’s life.
For many of them, the stakes are even higher. Hundreds of our graduates are the first in their families to finish high school. Many more are navigating college as first-generation students, facing systems that weren’t built with them in mind.
The academic preparation is there. But the road ahead is anything but simple.
Start One. Or Transfer One Over.
If you’d like to help, we’d love to plug you in.
Whether you’re a company, a church, or just one person who wants to make a difference, we can help you start or manage a scholarship that truly supports Memphis students. We’ll even keep you updated on their journey.
There are two ways to get in the game.
Start a new scholarship. We’ll help you build it from the ground up.
Or transfer an existing one over to us. If you’re already giving a scholarship, we’ll help you manage it and make sure it reaches a Memphis student who needs it.
Either way, this isn’t just covering tuition. It’s investing in Memphis’s next generation of leaders.
Someone gave to me. Likely, someone gave to you.
Now it’s our turn to give someone a shot at their future.
Let’s do it together.
P.S. Early voting is happening right now in Shelby County. Don’t wait for Election Day. Early voting runs through October 29, and you can vote at any early voting location. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Go make your voice heard. Learn more.
