What I do for city Leadership
As the Teach901 Director at City Leadership, I work to serve our school partner schools to recruit and retain teachers across Memphis.
Whether it is posting open job opportunities, highlighting star teachers or good news in the education world, or planning job fairs and teacher appreciation events I am passionate about ensuring that every child in Memphis receives the quality education they deserve and every teacher in Memphis gets the support and recognition they deserve.
CONNECT WITH ME
How I got to Memphis…
I moved from Philadelphia, PA to Memphis in 2014 to join Teach For America! A 2-year commitment transformed into 10+ years in teaching in Memphis Charter Schools. I began my teaching journey as a second-grade teacher with Aspire Public Schools.
A few years later Aspire transitioned to present-day Journey Community Schools where I taught third and fourth grade ELA. After 7 years, I had the opportunity to become the Reading Coordinator at Compass Community Schools- Frayser where I was able to serve our students who were at risk for dyslexia for the past 3+ years.
I am beyond excited to continue my professional journey by bringing my passion and talents to the City Leadership team as the Teach901 Director. My hope is to help recruit new faces to our education world and retain and celebrate our incredible current educators in Memphis!
Why I Choose901
As a Memphis transplant, I choose Memphis day after day for the community that I have built here and the way the city has embraced me. During my time in TFA I made the best of friends that are still my best friends to this day. We have all rooted ourselves in our community together and have grown together. I've since grown my community through my South Main neighborhood. Memphis feels like home now.

Bree and her rescue dog Ivy May
In my free time, I love spending time with my 6-year-old rescue dog, Ivy May! You can find me crafting, cooking, trying new foods around town, planning my signature themed parties, volunteering with Streetdog Foundation, watching football (#gobirds), and bopping around the South Main District with my friends!
