Breunna joined the team in August 2025 as a Choose901 Alumni Director.
What I do for city Leadership
As Alumni Director, I equip students and young adults with mentorship, resources, and opportunities to confidently navigate life after high school and their young adult life. Think of me as the alumni hype-woman! My role is all about connecting students with the tools, partnerships, and exposure they need to thrive in Memphis and beyond (but mostly Memphis!). Basically, I’m in the business of building bridges from “high school diploma” to “thriving young adult.”
How I got to Memphis…
Plot twist: I didn’t “get: to Memphis — I started here! Born and raised in Orange Mound, Memphis is in my DNA. It’s the heartbeat behind my passion for equitable education and the reason I show up every day to invest in the next generation of leaders.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee, I joined Teach for America, which gave me the opportunity to teach while earning my Master’s Degree from Christian Brothers University. My desire to strengthen my skills has led me to continue my education, and I am now pursuing my Doctorate in Education.
Why I Choose901
Because Memphis is more than just a city — it’s a movement. I Choose901 because this is where my story began, and where I want to help others launch theirs. There’s magic in watching young people realize that Memphis is not just a place to grow up, but a place to grow roots and shine.
MEET BREUNNA
Concertgoer, traveler, member of the Junior League Memphis, golfer, semi-expert painter, and (future) children’s book author. I wear many hats, but they all have the same theme: helping young people dream big and chase those dreams with strategy and confidence.
