What I do for city Leadership
As the Alumni Communications Coordinator at City Leadership I focus on developing and expanding relationships with Choose901 Alumni.
I take pride in being able to connect with the alumni and help them meet their needs so that they can be successful.
We strive for Alumni to be products of our mission as we help recruit, develop and catalyze them to be influential leaders and citizens throughout Memphis.
How I got to Memphis…
I am a true born and raised diehard Memphian. There is literally no place like home. Memphis is a place that you have no choice but to love, and I truly do love it.
From the people you meet to the amazing food (best hotwings in the world), to the atmosphere during games at the FedEx Forum, everything about Memphis makes me feel warm and fuzzy!
I bet there’s not a day that I don’t brag about how amazing Memphis is and what it means to me. It’s the most beautiful land in the world.
Why I Choose901
After graduating from Ridgeway High School, I decided to attend Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN which was such an amazing experience. I had so many friends from Memphis who I was able to experience college with which made it even better!
Shortly after graduating from TSU, I randomly chose to move to New Orleans. Which I feel like is Memphs 2.0. I truly enjoyed living in New Orleans so much and I thought I would eventually live there forever. But I knew it wasn’t home.
In August of 2023, I decided to move back home to Memphis. Being home feels so great. I’m surrounded by friends and family, and able to do everything I love to do!
meet KELSEY
I consider myself a “Memphis Food Connoisseur”. I LOVE trying new restaurants, and sharing some of my favorite food spots with others. Of course, I try to get my mom’s cooking as often as she’s willing to share.
When i’m not eating Memphis out of house and home, i’m usually at home rewatching some of my favorite ‘oldies but goodies’ shows/movies, or reading/listening to a good book! I’m always ready with a list of books to share.
You’ll often catch me in the kitchen as well as I love to cook and bake. I am a definite believer that food indeed does heal the soul.
