MEET NAKAYLA YANCEY, CITY LEADERSHIP INTERN

Hey everyone! My name is Nakayla Yancey and this summer I will be working at City Leadership as a Choose901 Alumni Intern. I am so excited to be in this position as I am an alumni of the program as a graduate of New Hope Christian Academy and The Collegiate School of Memphis.

I am a student at Rhodes College majoring in psychology. I am also a Bonner Scholar. Through the program, I am able to volunteer and serve in Memphis. Throughout high school and college, I have volunteered at Memphis Athletic Ministries. Now, I will serve at City Leadership. I am excited for the opportunity to work with the team and be able to impact the lives of alumni and the future of Memphis. The alumni team has had such a huge and positive impact on the lives of my sister and I, so I am excited to be able to impact someone else’s life in that way and to give back to the team in the ways that they have to me.

I’ve always had love for the city of Memphis and I know that being a part of City Leadership will allow me to both deepen and expand that love. Some of my favorite things to do in Memphis are watching the sunset on the river and at Shelby Farms Park and watching fireworks on Saturdays at the Memphis Redbirds games. I am expanding my list of things to do in Memphis, places to go, and food to try this summer and I am so excited to see what this summer has in store for me!
