A Night That Reminds Us Community Matters
There’s nothing quite like Memphis.
We’ve got the energy, the hustle, and the big-city amenities—but what makes this place special is that it still feels like home. Like community. Like you belong.
That’s why a Happy Hour at Central Station was the perfect place for the Choose901 Alumni Party last week—it was the perfect setting for what matters most: connection.
When our alumni gather with Memphis professionals, it’s more than a fun night out. It’s a chance to meet the right people and to take another step toward the future we’ve been building—together.
Because we’ve been investing in these incredible young leaders for years. They’re not just the future of Memphis. They’re our future. And gatherings like this help make sure they see that—and feel it.
This is why we do this.
To keep the momentum going. To keep Memphis moving forward.
To remind each other: we’re in this together.
Why We Do This
You could apply for a job with a click, connect on LinkedIn, or send a DM. And yeah—the digital world is vast, empowering, and often inspiring. But in all that scrolling and swiping, it’s easy to forget the most powerful connections happen the old-school way: in person.
Face to face.
That’s what this Happy Hour was all about. Real people. Real conversations. Real connection.
Because while Memphis may be smaller than some cities, that’s our superpower.
Our size + our people = a one-two combo that makes this community not only possible—but powerful.
And we don’t want to lose that. We don’t want to forget the Memphis magic that reminds us to say hi to a neighbor, to cheer each other on, and to slow down long enough to celebrate what we’re building—together.
Because the people standing beside you at that event are living real lives. Maybe carrying the same burdens. Definitely chasing the same hopes. And undoubtedly bringing some wins we all want to celebrate.
This is how we grow deeper roots in Memphis. This is how we move forward—together.
Keep Showing Up for Memphis
We know we’re preaching to the choir here, but it’s more important than ever to keep showing up. Not just for events like this, but for each other.
Go to the pop-up. Support that small biz. Attend the mixer, the panel, the block party. Because every time we do, we’re reinforcing what makes this city special: community.
We don’t just want to exist in Memphis—we want to be part of it.
And that only happens when we show up. Together.
And hey—if you hear about an opportunity, share it. Got an open role at your company? Know someone looking for a mentee? Let’s feed that forward into this community we’re building.
Our alumni network is full of talent, passion, and Memphis grit. Let’s keep lifting each other up.
We say it all the time, but it’s worth repeating: Memphis moves forward when we move together.
So keep showing up. Keep making space. Keep being the energy in the room.
Because this city is full of potential.
