Happy 901 Day!

Today is 901 Day!! 

A day to celebrate Memphis.

We are celebrating not only the city we’ve been, but also the city we are becoming.

We Took Ground. Now We Fortify It.

Leaders, there is real momentum here. 2026 feels like Memphis 2015. If you have been here, you know what I am talking about.

 You can see it in our neighborhoods, our businesses, our creativity, and in the people who choose every day to believe in Memphis and build something better.

This momentum must be sustained. Progress must be protected, strengthened, and expanded.

What Does That Look Like?

So my challenge today to each of you in this city is simple: don’t just celebrate the momentum; let's add to it.

Invest in people. Open a door. Solve a problem. Tell Memphis’s story. And refuse to let cynicism speak louder than possibility. 

Now Is The Time. Memphis Is The Place.

We’ve worked hard to get here, and we’re not finished.

The 901 belongs to all of us, and so does its future.

Today, let’s all celebrate how far Memphis has come,

And tomorrow keep building what comes next.
