Back to School bash!

Can you guys believe it's already the end of July? A lot of schools are even starting back up next week! And you know what that means: it's time to show our educators a little appreciation as they step back into the classroom. And we've got just the thing!

The Teach901 Back to School Bash

We're organizing a community teacher appreciation event called the Back to School Bash. It's for Memphis teachers at Old Dominick (including the rooftop!) on August 21 to say thank you to your hard working educators. There will be free drinks for teachers, appetizers, and Choose901 merch giveaways. The Memphis Grizzlies are a sponsor of the event and will be there with teacher swag as well! So if you're a teacher, check out the event page below and RSVP HERE.

But for all of us who are not teachers, we need your help throwing this party.

Check out the details below the flyer….

You Can Buy a Teacher a Drink!

Give901 is teaming up with Teach901 to give Memphis the opportunity to treat our teachers to a drink, a round, and some appetizers. We're launching this campaign August 4th, but I wanted to give you guys an early heads up so you can jump in first:

Here’s how:

💵 $10 – A drink for one awesome teacher

🍽️ $28 – Appetizers for a table of educators

🍻 $60 – A round of drinks for the table

🎉 $130 – A Baker's Dozen of drinks covered by you

🏆 $250 – Become a Party Co-Host and Get Your Name or Company Name shouted out on social media and at the event

Want to be the Title Sponsor?

A Title Sponsorship means you become the official sponsor of our Back to School Bash—aka the folks making this party possible.

That comes with:
✔ A shoutout across Teach901, Choose901, and Give901 socials
✔ Featured mentions in event recap reels, blog posts, and thank-you content
✔ Very grateful Memphis teachers

Title sponsorship is $2,000

So get in before everyone else, and let's show Memphis that our teachers are something to celebrate!

Speaking of Celebration...

This summer we’ve also been celebrating 15 years of City Leadership, and we’ve been sharing the stories of four people whose lives and work helped shape what this movement is all about.

In case you missed them, here’s your quick catch-up:

🎥 Shelby Smith
From juggling classes and shifts at The Majestic to becoming a key team leader over 8 years, Shelby helped shape the heart and hustle of our organization.
➡️ Watch Shelby’s Story

🎥 Luke Pruett
Luke’s journey proves that when you say “yes” to Memphis, the city says “yes” back. His story reflects what can happen when people commit to lead, live, and grow right here in the 901.
➡️ Watch Luke’s Story

🎥 Kyle Taylor
As Creative Director, Kyle helped Memphis see itself—not just through campaigns, but through pride, purpose, and story. His creativity made people walking billboards for what makes Memphis shine.
➡️ Watch Kyle’s Story

🎥 Joi Taylor Johnson
Joi stayed in Memphis when she didn’t have to—and built something that still moves. She launched the Choose901 Alumni program and helped hundreds of grads find purpose and belonging right here at home.

Thanks for showing up for Memphis. Let's keep this story going.

And let's make this Back to School Bash a vibe!!
